Alternative classroom at North Cambridge Academy
Public Commission by Kettle's Yard
This public art commission at North Cambridge Academy in King’s Hedges introduced an additional classroom in the school; an irregular space without tables, chairs, guidelines, or marked lessons. The yearlong weekly engagements in the room were purposed to help students to reconsider their immediate surroundings and increase ownership and awareness of their position by a multitude of sensory walks, debates, dance-, rhyming- and drawing work groups.
