‘Moulding Exclusivities’
2017
4K Video, 8.10 min

On-site at StudioRCA, London

Moulding Exclusivities shows a series of sculptures utilising the remnants of prosthetic manufacture. All items rendered by the camera are assembled from plastics leftover from the fabrication of wearable braces for spinal adjustment. Much like museological artefacts, these off-cuts have no manual function or a ritual purpose. Subsequently the film and its location circumscribe the absence of a tangible use value of art works, as well as the disservice of standardised office and living environments for a human body.

The film was supported by the Elephant Trust and the Asia Culture Centre Gwangju.
